Two-Phase Treatment
At Scott Orthodontics, we believe in starting treatment at the right time—not necessarily the earliest time. That’s why we offer Two-Phase Treatment, a specialized approach that combines early intervention with full orthodontic treatment later on, tailored to your child’s individual growth and development.
Two-phase treatment is typically recommended for children who show early signs of jaw or bite issues that could become more severe if left untreated. This method allows us to guide jaw growth and tooth development at a young age, reducing the need for extractions or surgery in the future and improving the outcome of Phase Two (braces or Invisalign).
Phase One: Laying the Foundation
Phase One typically begins between the ages of 6 and 10, when a child still has a mix of baby and permanent teeth. During this phase, we focus on:
- Creating space for incoming permanent teeth
- Correcting harmful oral habits (thumb sucking, tongue thrust, etc.)
- Guiding jaw growth and improving facial balance
- Addressing bite problems early (underbites, crossbites, etc.)
After Phase One, there’s usually a resting period where we monitor growth and let the remaining adult teeth come in naturally.
Phase Two: Perfecting the Smile
Phase Two usually begins in the early teen years once all permanent teeth have erupted. This phase typically involves braces or Invisalign to align the teeth, refine the bite, and ensure long-term stability and aesthetics.
Two-Phase Treatment isn’t necessary for every child, but when it is, it can make a big difference. Dr. Scott will evaluate your child’s smile and growth patterns to determine if this proactive approach is right for them.
Professional Teeth Whitening
Your smile says a lot about you, and over time, it’s natural for teeth to become stained from coffee, tea, wine, or everyday habits. At Scott Orthodontics, we offer professional teeth whitening treatments designed to safely and effectively brighten your smile, either during or after orthodontic treatment.
Unlike over-the-counter whitening products that may deliver uneven or short-lived results, our whitening systems use professional-grade gel and custom-fit trays to achieve noticeable, long-lasting results—without damaging your enamel or causing unnecessary sensitivity.
Why choose professional whitening?
- Faster, brighter results than store-bought products
- Customized trays for even whitening and better comfort
- Safe for sensitive teeth and gentle on enamel
- Ideal for post-braces or post-Invisalign touch-ups
- A great confidence booster for events like weddings, interviews, and graduations
Whether you’re finishing up orthodontic treatment and want your straight smile to shine, or you’re simply ready for a smile refresh, we’ll help you get the radiant results you deserve—safely and effectively.

Retainer Assurance Program
Your orthodontic treatment is an investment, and your retainer is the key to keeping that investment intact. At Scott Orthodontics, we offer a Retainer Assurance Program to make it easier and more affordable for you to maintain your smile long after your braces or Invisalign treatment is complete.
Retainers are essential because teeth naturally want to shift back over time, especially in the first few years after treatment. With our Retainer Assurance Program, you get peace of mind knowing replacements are covered, and your smile is protected for the long haul.
What’s included in the Retainer Assurance Program?
- Significant cost savings compared to replacing retainers individually
- No surprise fees if a retainer is lost, broken, or worn out
- Ongoing monitoring and support from our team
- Available for both braces and Invisalign patients
Whether you’re a teen who misplaces things from time to time or an adult who wants backup retainers for travel or convenience, this program takes the stress out of smile maintenance.
We strongly recommend enrolling at the beginning of treatment—it’s the easiest way to protect the time, effort, and resources you’ve put into your new smile.
