Hundreds of 5-Star Reviews
My daughter, son, and I have had wonderful experiences with our orthodontic treatments by Dr. Scott and his staff. They are highly skilled, professional, patient, and affordable. During the pandemic we fell behind with our maintenance, but plan on returning to continue treatment. Highly recommend!
View on GoogleThe whole experience was great! From the staff's helpfulness, to them going above an beyond to help me. Had pain for a year, and they did an occlusal adjustment for free to help it, in addition! Great work Dr. Scott, and team!

Affordable Treatment
Many patients are afraid to visit the orthodontist because they are worried that they won't be able to afford treatment. At Scott Orthodontics, serving Greater Bowie, MD, we want every child and adult who needs orthodontics to be able to afford treatment. We accept insurance and offer low down payments and affordable payment plans to make orthodontics accessible to families.
Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Stuart A. Scott is a certified orthodontist who specializes in correcting all types of malocclusion. Unlike a dentist, who might refer you to an orthodontist if you have severe misalignment, Dr. Scott is able to treat the most complex orthodontic cases himself through traditional braces and clear aligner treatment. He also offers space-age wires (a nickel-titanium alloy developed by NASA) for faster, more comfortable braces treatment and Invisalign® for more discreet care.

"Dr. Scott and his team are wonderful!" Reviews From Our Compassionate Patients
Dr. Scott and Liz are wonderful! I started Invisalign with them, and they’ve done a great job of explaining the process and managing expectations. The office is nice, and you don’t have to wait long at all to be called back
View on GoogleDr. Scott and his team are wonderful! I was referred to him by my sister who’s two children went to him for their braces. Being that this is my second time in braces I was a little discouraged, but Dr. Scott and his team were so professional and welcoming, they made this transition as an adult a lot easier!

Metal Braces
Metal braces are a tried and true orthodontic treatment. Metal braces consist of a series of wires, brackets, and bands that work together to gently move the teeth into alignment. Dr. Scott uses special space-age wires that are designed to move the teeth faster but with less discomfort for the patient than traditional metal braces.
Ceramic Braces
For patients who want a more discreet option, we also offer ceramic braces. Like metal braces, ceramic braces are made up of wires, brackets, and bands. However, the brackets and bands are clear instead of silver. As with metal braces, Dr. Scott uses space-age wires to deliver more efficient and comfortable treatment.
Clear Aligners
Invisalign® is another discreet alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to gently shift the teeth into alignment over a period of 12 to 18 months. For qualifying patients who want a more discreet, removable, and comfortable orthodontic option, Invisalign from our Invisalign Elite Provider can be a great solution.
Jaw Surgery
Patients with severe cases of misalignment may need surgery in order to complete their treatment. Our orthodontist can refer you to an oral surgeon for jaw surgery if needed. Jaw surgery can provide a good foundation for your orthodontic treatment. It can also help you eat, speak, and sleep without any discomfort or issues. Dr. Scott will only recommend surgery if less invasive solutions won't work.
Which Orthodontic Treatment Is Right for You?
With so many options available, it can be difficult to decide which orthodontic treatment is right for you.
Ultimately, it will depend on your unique case and which orthodontic solution will help you achieve the best possible results.
To prepare for your consultation and start thinking about which option is best for you, ask yourself:
- What's my budget for treatment?
- Do I care whether you can see my braces when I smile?
- Do I have any upcoming events that I want to be braces-free for?
Based on your answers to these questions and the results of your dental exam, Dr. Scott can help you decide whether metal braces, ceramic braces, or clear aligners are right for you.

Hear a Patient's Experience With Invisalign
"I am extremely pleased with my care experience. I got Invisalign to correct my cross-bite and other issues. From the first visit, he outlines everything and showed me a 3D imaging to project the timeline and show how the teeth are supposed to align by those benchmarks. He and his treatment coordinator made it easy to understand." Asiana Phan
